Over the past 4 weeks, we had 4 sessions of Writers Workshop. After the 3 day workshop, each child completed writing their own storybook.
We started out by discussing ideas, characters, places, etc. Once we settled on what we wanted to write, we began writing our first draft. When the first draft was completed, we checked for areas that we could enhance and make changes. Finally, we transferred our draft over to the final copy of the storybook. We also explored scanning our book, converting it into an e-book.
